A Real Patient Journey

At the Reverse Time Clinic, we focus on the “why” before the “how”: we like to understand what outcome you are looking for from a treatment plan, and why. By understanding your needs, your health status and your lifestyle commitments, we will tailor the perfect treatment plan to keep you at your fabulous best, whether it is for a major occasion, or “just because”.

Our doctor is Board Certified in Aesthetic and Anti-ageing medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and has a deep understanding of how your hormonal and general health affects your response to cosmetic treatment, your healing time and your overall outcomes. We will discuss your concerns with you, advise tests if required and recommend skin treatments appropriate to your age and health.  Here is a case study of a typical patient journey to help you visualise how health and appearance interact.

A Real Patient Journey

Meet JH, age 35. She works full time and is getting married in 6 months. She is busy, stressed, tired and trying to keep her weight down. She has hair loss and dry skin.

6 Months Out:

JH consulted our doctor about her skin, tiredness and weight, wanting to look and feel her best for her wedding.
She was started on medical skincare: cleanser, serum (antioxidant) & SPF. She had blood tests done with our doctor. She was advised to eat whole foods, avoid processed foods and fad diets, and to reduce her alcohol intake.
JH has had heavy periods for years. Her blood results revealed low iron, low Vitamin D and folic acid. This meant her skin may not heal well after treatments (her skin felt as tired as she did).
So, before her skin treatments, she had a nutrition & lifestyle prescription, supplements to remedy the deficiencies and give her the time and energy to modify her diet. She moderated her sugar and alcohol intake.
Within 8 weeks, her hair loss improved, energy levels rose, her skin became clearer and it was now time for some carefully selected medical cosmetic treatments.
JH got tension headaches and kept frowning unconsciously. She had a medical consultation for treatment to relax her frown muscles. She wanted dermal fillers, but felt anxious as she had never had them before. So, as a non-filler alternative, she had a course of PRP and Profhilo.

3 Months Out:

JH is glowing. Her hair is shiny and strong. She has lost inches without even trying. She sleeps well, is alert on waking (no brain fog!). Her skin is clear and hydrated. Not seeing that frown has boosted her well-being: “When I don’t look angry or tired, I just don’t feel angry or tired”. The PRP and Profhilo have plumped and firmed up her skin.

Funny thing – her fiancé said she looked happier and healthier, but did not pick up on the treatments because the result was so natural.

1 Month To Go:

JH loves her low-alcohol, whole-food lifestyle and the simple skincare plan. After the honeymoon, she plans to have microneedling for stretch marks, multi-point facial dermal fillers, and PRP for her scalp where her hair remains thin in the parting.
The best part, she says, is not having a complicated skin routine; not feeling inadequate about Instagram posts; not being on a diet, and not spending a fortune on lotions and potions.

At the Reverse Time Clinic we like to think that aging is optional.
