Medical Grade Chemical Peel Treatment

Summary of Treatment

Treat skin aging, brighten and condition skin with medical grade Chemical Peels

Skin peels (chemical peels) are the among the most rapidly growing non-surgical anti-aging treatments in America.

In the UK as well, as more patients are getting better educated about what procedures will “future-proof” their skin, they are turning away from repeated injections of botulinum toxins and dermal fillers, and opting to rejuvenate their skin with medical grade skin peels.

Peels do not just remove the surface layers of skin. Instead, advanced chemical peels such as SkinTech TCA are designed to penetrate skin layers in a controlled manner, for skin tightening and collagen inducing benefits. In the process they increase the shedding of surface layers of your skin to reveal the healthy layers underneath.

Skin peels are effective for treating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, mild scarring, certain types of acne, age spots and hyperpigmentation, as well as improving the look and feel of your skin.

A range of skin peel strengths is available to ensure you get the best peel for your individual case. We can discuss the various peels with you and what you can expect from your treatment during your consultation.
Medical grade skin peels are usually medium depth chemical peels. At Reverse Time we use the following highly effective and safe ranges of skin peels.

  • SkinTech Easy TCA Classic
  • SkinTech Easy TCA Pain Control
  • SkinTech EasyPhen Light
  • Perfect Derma Peel
  • Vi Peel

All peel treatments need careful skin history and assessment, preparation where required and sensible aftercare for lasting benefits. Aggressive deep peels are painful, have more downtime and side-effects, so we do not do these. We believe, and have seen through experience that a good medium peel program with preparation and aftercare can give amazing results.

Is a chemical peel treatment right for you?

Following any peel treatment, you MUST apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen. “Physical sunscreens”, that is, sunscreens containing only titanium dioxide/ zinc oxide, are preferred.
Your skin is to be considered as “compromised” as its top layer has been dissolved. So it will surely sensitive to sun for 4-6 weeks.
The use of SPF 30+ is essential in sensible aftercare, at least in light of the money spent on the peel treatment. One dermatologist’s advise is not to bother with peels, to patients who insist on tanning themselves in natural sun or in sunbeds.
Most ethical and knowledgeable doctors will emphatically advise such patients (who use sun-beds or persist in outdoor tanning) to not have a peel.
The decision to have a peel (or not) thus depends on your skin quality and condition and skin type. Peels are highly effective treatments, but not magic wands of anti-aging.

What peels CAN do

Peels can improve skin tone, smoothen texture and improve some hyperpigmentation (brown spots).

Peels must be followed with daily (come rain or shine) use of SPF 30+. If you can manage that, you can be assured of youthful skin for decades.

What peels CANNOT do

  • “lift” sagging skin.
  • “relax” frown muscles like botulinum does.
  • Peels cannot replace volume
  • Thus peels cannot treat age or exercise related hollowing of the face.
